Welcome to the BYHA Insider, the electronic newsletter of the Brampton Youth Hockey Association. Over the course of this season we have been working with brampton.com, a division of Brampton Media Corp and its President Luciano Borsato to create an electronic newsletter to keep our members up to date with happenings within the BYHA. I am pleased to announce that we have been able to once again create this valuable information tool to communicate with you. Representative League Update
The Brampton Youth Hockey Association’s 33 representative and 4 select teams are closing in on the end of their 2006-2007 seasons. The AA, A and AE teams have all completed the first round of their Ontario Minor Hockey Association Play Downs with teams moving on to the quarter finals or Tri County playoffs depending on their play down success. At the AAA level, the Novice, Minor Atom, and Atom teams all heading into the first round of the OMHA Play Downs while the Minor Peewee to Midget teams are into the final three weeks of their regular season schedule. The Select teams are currently involved in their respective league playoffs.

Intra City League Update
The 2006/2007 Intra City League Regular Season has concluded for all divisions with the exception of Minor Atom. Atom to Midget teams are now involved in playoff action while the Minor Atom Division will start their playoff schedule on the weekend of February 24-25. All divisions will play a round robin schedule with the top two teams advancing to the Brampton Youth Hockey Association Weekend of Champions March 30, 31 and April 1.

Recreational League Updates
The Recreational League wrapped up its 2006/2007 season on the weekend of February 10-11 and played its first playoff games on the February 17-18 weekend. All divisions will participate in a round robin series with the top two teams in each division advancing to semi final action. The winners of the semi finals in each division with then go on to face each other in the Brampton Youth Hockey Association Weekend of Champions scheduled for Brampton Memorial Arena March 30, 31 and April 1. Weekend of Champions
The Brampton Youth Hockey Association’s Weekend of Champions will be held March 30, 31 and April 1 at Brampton Memorial Arena. The Weekend of Champions will see the top two teams from all the Recreational and Intra City League divisions meet to determine each division’s playoff champion.

BYHA to Host OMHA Minor Atom AAA Finals
The Brampton Youth Hockey Association’s Minor Atom AAA team will play host to the 2007 Ontario Minor Hockey Association Minor Atom AAA Finals. The 5 team tournament will take place at Century Gardens March 23 to 25.

BYHA to host SCTA Minor Midget AAA Qualifier
The Brampton Youth Hockey Association will play host to the 2007 SCTA Minor Midget AAA Qualifier Tournament. The tournament, which will feature all 10 Minor Midget AAA teams from the SCTA, will be held March 9, 10, and 11.

OMHA Announces NCCP Development 2 Spring 2007 Clinic Schedule
Thursday, January 25, 2007 Richmond Hill, ON - The OMHA is pleased to announce our dates & locations of the NCCP Development 2 clinics the OMHA will be offering for Spring 2007. NCCP Development 2 is a two-day clinic designed for coaches working with players at the Competitive Level (Rep - Peewee & above) who hold current NCCP Development 1 or Coach Level certification. Curriculum includes team play concepts, strategies and game analysis. The clinic also involves a formal evaluation including a Field Evaluation and completion and evaluation of the post-clinic Coach Workbook.
